Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) is delighted to unveil the programme for the 10th Annual Thomas D'Arcy McGee Anniversary Event which takes place both online and on-campus on 15th-16th November 2021. The event is open to all members of the public and tickets can be purchased via the CHC Website: https://carlingfor This year’s programme will explore the theme: ‘Thomas D’Arcy McGee – The colour of his legacy'. A panel of world-class experts will gather to will reflect on modern issues of diversity and inclusion. Historical perspectives will be explored by Prof David Wilson of the Celtic Studies Program and History Department at the University of Toronto. Kwasie Boyce, Artistic Director at M.A.D. Youth Theatre, Dundalk, will discuss 'New Ireland - Growing Diversity and Learning from the Past' with Robert Kearns, Chairperson, Canada Ireland Foundation and other panelists. On the second day the keynote speaker will be H.E. Ms. Nancy Smyth, Ambassador of Canada to Ireland. Political commentator, Eamon Mallie, will chair the ever popular, Politicians’ Forum from the DkIT campus (limited tickets available), which will include a lively round up of views from leading politicians from across the island of Ireland such as Doug Beattie Ulster Unionist Party Leader and John Finucane, Sinn Féin MP for North Belfast. Other special guests include Deputy Thomas Byrne, Minister of State Department of the Taoiseach, Christopher Stalford, Democratic Unionist Party and Billy Hutchinson, Progressive Unionist Party Leader.
