SiarScéal Festival 2019 takes place over two days, commencing on Friday, 11 October and continuing through Saturday, 12 October at Roscommon County Library HQ in Roscommon Town.
SiarScéal is a historical, literary, bilingual
festival hosted annually and inspired by the culture and heritage of County Roscommon, in the heart of the Irish midlands. SiarScéal celebrates the lives and history of the people of Roscommon, both nationally and globally, through the medium of poetry, prose, short stories.

SiarScéal also hosts the annual
Hanna Greally Literary Awards, which include the Ger Hanily Memorial Cup, a literary competition which has run every year since the festival began in 2007. Entries are invited from all over the world. Full details about the competition, including themes, prizes, closing dates for entries,

Numerous
publications sponsored by SiarScéal are on sale and available to buy online. These include books, anthologies, CDs and reflect the array of talent that the Festival has attracted over the years.
SiarScéal is a voluntary organisation, supported by public subscriptions as well as funding in the form of endowments and grants, together with sponsorship from local businesses. The festival and events that we organise are open to the general public; we welcome visitors from near and far.
Donations that we receive, for any amount, however small, support this work and help us to plan future festivals and events.
