The attitude towards Ireland in Canada is overwhelmingly positive. Relations between Ireland and Canada are close, based on family ties, cultural affinities, and shared democratic political traditions. Almost 3.9 million Canadians or 13% of the population claim some Irish ancestry. This helps a great deal in opening doors and establishing rapport. Ireland’s positive image in Canada will add to the level of attention that we can expect to receive in the country.
