Irish Seniors Social Group Ottawa

Irish Seniors Social Group Ottawa
Irish Seniors Social Group Ottawa (ISSGO) moved from Zoom meetings to picnics in the park- Bate Island when Covid-19 regulations allowed. We look forward to moving indoors again, although it will be a challenge to keep our number of attendants to 25 which is well below our usual number. On September 28th we move into our new venue, St.Columba's Parish Hall in Manor Park. Meetings will be every Tuesday from 11a.m. to 2p.m.and as usual we're planning an interesting program of guest speakers, hot topics, trivia and much more. Public Health Ottawa has advised against having our usual pot luck lunch but we will serve tea and coffee and members will bring their own lunch. As we begin our 16th year, we are happy to say that all members are fully vaccinated and that none of our 77 members contracted covid-19. We are most grateful to the Government of Ireland whose initial Grant in 2005 helped start our Group and continues to support us annually. Our close liaison with the Irish Embassy locally is collaborative and supportive. Our Mission Statement is "To KEEP iRISH BORN SENIORS AND SENIORS OF IRISH DESCENT IN TOUCH WITH THEIR CULTURE AND COMMUNITY ---" and our motto is Friendship and Caring,
