Ceiliuradh 150: A Musical Evening with Odhrán O Casaide and Friends


Odhrán O Casaide is a Lecturer at DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama where he teaches violin and runs the Irish Traditional Music programme. This includes a four-year undergraduate degree course in Irish Traditional Music.

Odhrán, originally brought up in the Gaeltacht tradition of west Donegal, also studied violin at the Royal Northern College of Music with Yossi Zavoni and later in Vienna with Franz Samohyl. Odhrán, a member of the well known family group "Na Casaidigh", is also an accomplished performer on the uileann pipes and has performed as soloist with numerous Symphony Orchestras including the Denver Symphony Orchestra and Grand Rapids Symphony
